Wang Xuebing
Kiki (Xuebing) Wang, a Chinese artist, was born in 1993 in Henan. She completed her BFA degree at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2016, and will graduate with an MA from the Royal College of Art in London in 2020. Wang is currently based in London where she lives and works. Her paintings challenge the twisted aspects of modern consumerism, and her focus is on luxury fashion and other desirable objects.
She portrays trending garments that are often taken down from the spotlights and high pedestals, marginalized, displaced, and obscured in the paradox of scale, location, and value. This allows her to examine the possibility of transforming the non-valuable into valuable and distinguish fictions from realities. Wang has recently exhibited her works in various group exhibitions, including those held at CLC Gallery Venture, Beijing, Zona Mista, London, Sackler Gallery, London, Slime Engine Gallery, Shanghai, and New Wight Gallery, Los Angeles.
