Sylvie Auvray
Sylvie Auvray is a Paris-based visual artist who was born in 1974. Auvray's work incorporates a variety of materials and techniques such as paintings, bronze and aluminium sculptures, and ceramics. She is known for creating hybrid creatures called "bestioles" that are a combination of primitive forms and vibrant colors, which relate to the viewer from diverse perspectives. Auvray's artwork is presented on various scales, ranging from the small to the large.
Auvray has exhibited her work in numerous international galleries and museums, including the Centre Pompidou, Palais de Tokyo, and MAMVP in Paris, Consortium in Dijon, and the MAMCO in Geneva. She graduated from the National School of Fine Arts in Montpellier in 1993 and from the City & Guilds London Art School in 1996.
