Svenja Deininger's Art Style

In her artistic process, Deininger starts by applying layers of base coats along with a single abstract form, which can take the shape of a shadow or evoke a memory. This enchanting progression unfolds almost magically, with brushstrokes and gestural styles often absent, allowing the art to manifest organically.

The resulting intimate abstractions consistently display the intensity that a painting can achieve within a larger space, with its edges being the only clue to how it was created and the atmosphere it conveys.

The captivating abstract paintings by Svenja Deininger reveal fields of serene colors, ranging from beige and turquoise to soft gray and straw yellow. These tranquil hues are artfully divided by meandering lines of black or gold, adding a beguiling charm to her artistic creations.

In the exhibition "Second Chances First Impressions," the artworks feature globular or flat landscape-like shapes, surfaces, and distinct stripes, which are deliberately abstracted and fragmented. These elements appear to float like enigmatic pieces of a metaphysical puzzle within the gallery space, especially evident in the larger untitled works. Notably, one piece in the exhibition is constructed in such a way that it incorporates the gallery wall itself as an integral part of its intriguing and elusive narrative.
