Soumya Sankar Bose

Soumya Sankar Bose is an Indian photographer born in 1986 in Kolkata, India. He is known for his documentary-style photography that focuses on social and political issues in contemporary India. Bose received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Presidency University in Kolkata, and his Master of Arts degree in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography from the University of Westminster in London. His work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including at the National Portrait Gallery in London and the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C. Bose has also been the recipient of several awards, including the Magnum Foundation's Photography and Social Justice Fellowship. He currently lives and works in Kolkata.
