Sarah Lannan

Sarah Lannan is an American artist based in Los Angeles, California. Her work explores themes of identity, memory, and representation through a range of media including painting, sculpture, and installation. Lannan's practice is deeply rooted in her own personal experiences, often drawing on her upbringing in the American Midwest and her interest in pop culture and Americana.

Lannan's paintings often feature bold colors, graphic shapes, and expressive brushstrokes, creating a sense of movement and energy within the canvas. Her sculptures and installations incorporate found objects and everyday materials, transforming them into unexpected and poetic works of art.

Lannan has exhibited her work in galleries and museums throughout the United States and internationally, including solo exhibitions at The Pit in Los Angeles and The Suburban in Milwaukee, and group exhibitions at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles and the New Museum in New York. She has also been the recipient of several awards and grants, including a Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant and a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant.
