Born in 1975, Oscar Tuazon grew up in a geodesic dome that his parents built in the woods of Indianola, Kitsap County, Washington. He attended Deep Springs College, Cooper Union, and the Whitney Independent Study Program. 

He met and married Lan Tuazon in New York in the mid-90s, subsequently adopting the name Oscar Tuazon. Despite their later divorce, he chose to retain the last name.

Tuazon's career began with a position in the Studio Acconci of architect and artist Vito Acconci. After relocating to Paris in 2007, he started exhibiting widely across Europe.
