Laura Gannon's artistic endeavors span drawing, sculpture, painting, and film. Noteworthy recent creations encompass abstract drawings crafted with metallic ink on linen. Biography of Laura Gannon
Laura Gannon was born in Galway, Ireland, in 1972. From 1990 to 1994, she studied at the University of Ulster at Belfast, graduating with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art. From 2002 to 2003, Gannon attended Goldsmiths, University of London, pursuing an MA in Fine Art.
The artist has received numerous awards and accolades, including the Film and Video Award from the Irish Arts Council (1998), the Multi-annual Bursary Award from the Irish Arts Council (2007), and the Project Award from the Irish Arts Council (2014). In 2021, Gannon participated in the Launch Pad residency at LaB in Charente, France.
Laura Gannon's works have been exhibited worldwide. Her recent solo shows include "Laura Gannon" at Kate MacGarry in London (2022), "Silver House" at VISUAL Carlow in Ireland (2019), "Espace Croisé" at Contemporary Arts Centre in France (2016), "Silver House" at West Cork Arts Centre in Ireland (2015), and many more.
Additionally, she has participated in numerous group exhibitions, including "LUMA" at AORA in London (2023), "TWENTY" at Kate MacGarry in London (2022), the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in London (2022), "Making and Momentum: In Conversation with Eileen Gray" at Mairie de Roquebrune-Cap-Martin in France (2021), among others.
Currently, Laura Gannon lives in London, where she continues to work.
