Born in Kittery, ME, in 1975, Joe Bradley earned his BFA in painting from the Rhode Island School of Design at 24, swiftly rising to prominence in the art world with his distinctive, vibrant style. 

While his methods evolved gradually, his work has largely remained rooted in similar concepts since gaining popularity. Bradley's art seeks equilibrium within a triangle formed by Twombly-esque scribbles, kitschy iconography, and hard-edge geometric abstraction reminiscent of avant-garde movements of old. This thematic consistency is evident even in his earliest series, featuring anthropomorphized shaped canvases reminiscent of Ellsworth Kelly or Blinky Palermo's work, suggesting the likeness of running figures.

With his initial project, which is arguably Bradley's most successful and iconic, the artist showcased an approach that was both dazzling and irreverent. Subsequent paintings often feature figures resembling human forms, often associated with elements of color field painting and Minimalism. Bradley himself described his art as "intentionally shoddy and pathetic," likely due to his use of flimsy shop-bought canvases, although he seems to pay meticulous attention to the choice and quality of color.

The artist often paints flat on the floor, reminiscent of Pollock's approach.
