Eva Schlegel
Eva Schlegel is an Austrian contemporary artist whose work encompasses a range of media, including photography, sculpture, installation, and painting. Born in 1960 in Tirol, Austria, Schlegel studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, where she earned a degree in graphic design in 1985.
Schlegel's work explores themes of identity, perception, and the relationship between the individual and the larger social and political context. She often uses found materials and everyday objects in her installations, which she transforms through her artistic process.
Schlegel's photographs are notable for their use of light and color, and her abstract compositions often create a sense of depth and movement within the frame. Her sculptures and installations similarly play with light and shadow, as well as the relationship between object and space.
Schlegel has exhibited her work extensively in Austria and internationally, including the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, the Museum der Moderne in Salzburg, and the Leopold Museum Galerie Krinzinger in Vienna.
