Elene Chantladze

Elene Chantladze is a Georgian artist born in Supsa village in Lekhumi in 1946. She currently lives and works in Tskaltubo, Georgia. Chantladze has recently had solo exhibitions at Modern Art in London in 2021, LC Queisser in Tbilisi in 2020, and Gallery Nectar in Tbilisi in 2018. Her work has also been exhibited in group exhibitions at Conceptual Fine Arts in Milan in 2021, Gallery Nectar in Tbilisi in 2015, and Ausstellungsraum Klingental in Basel in 2015. In her work, Chantladze often explores the relationship between the individual and society, touching on themes of history, memory, and identity. Her work is highly personal and often incorporates found objects and materials, as well as traditional Georgian craft techniques.
