From 2000 to 2004, the artist studied at the School of Visual Arts in NY, obtaining a B.F.A. in Fine Arts. Later, he participated in the Studio Program at the Whitney Museum of American Arts Independent Study Program in New York (2005-2006). Ei Arakawa continued his education at Bard College, receiving an M.F.A. in Film/Video in 2006.
