Dora García's Art Style

Dora García delves into the parameters and norms that govern the presentation of art, probing the intricacies of time—both real and fictional—and investigating the blurred boundaries between representation and reality.

In her work, the artist portrays reality as multifaceted and uncertain, delving into the interplay between the artist, the artwork, and the audience. Acting akin to a film director, she narrates stories or selects them, sets scenes, and engages us in scenarios or games that closely resemble reality, thereby prompting us to question it.

Her conceptual work comprises text, photographs, and site-specific installations, often incorporating participation and performance. Through subtle alterations, the exhibition space undergoes a transformation, offering a unique experience to each visitor, leaving them with altered perceptions and perhaps a sense of skepticism and uncertainty.
