Darren Bader
Darren Bader is a contemporary American artist known for his unconventional and often humorous approach to art-making. Born in 1978 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Bader studied filmmaking and art history at New York University.
Bader's work often plays with language and meaning, using puns, jokes, and unexpected combinations of objects to create a sense of absurdity and confusion. He often works with "impossible" sculpture, trash sculpture, and collaborative installation, exploring the interconnectedness of seemingly disparate objects.
Institutional solo exhibitions include Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY (2020); Madre, Naples, Italy (2017–18); The Power Station, Dallas, TX (2017); High Line Art, New York, NY (2017) and Kölnischer Kunstverein, Cologne, Germany (2015), among others.
