Christopher Aque
Christopher Aque is a New York-based artist born in 1987. He obtained his Bachelor of Art from the University of Chicago in 2009 and completed his Master of Fine Art at Hunter College in New York in 2016. Aque's work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions internationally.
Aque's work often explores the intersection of language, image, and meaning, and deals with issues of identity, power, and representation. He works in a variety of media, including painting, sculpture, and installation. His solo exhibitions include "Idling" at Regards in Chicago (2018) and "A void" at Sweetwater in Berlin (2021), among others.
His work has also been included in group exhibitions such as "The Comedies of the Status Quo" at Kate Werble Gallery in New York (2019) and "Some of It Falls from the Belt and Lands on the Walkway Beside the Conveyor" at Vleeshal in Middelburg, The Netherlands (2022).
