Christian Freudenberger

Christian Freudenberger, born in Dortmund in 1971, attended the Arts Academy of the City of Düsseldorf from 1992 to 1998. He later became Head of Art at the Kunstverein Schwerte from 2008 to 2011, alongside Markus Karstiess. Since 2012, Freudenberger has been a Professor of Painting and Graphics Reproduction at the University of Siegen.

Freudenberger currently resides and works in Düsseldorf. Throughout his career, Freudenberger has received numerous awards, including a scholarship for study abroad from the Arts Foundation of North Rhine-Westphalia in 2003, Artist in Residence status at the Chinati Foundation in Marfa, Texas in 2004, and the Fine Arts Promotion Prize from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in 2005. His works have been featured in solo and group exhibitions both nationally and internationally.
