Ana Navas

Born in Quito in 1984, Ana Navas currently resides in Amsterdam where she works as an artist. Her artistic practice revolves around the themes of transformation, assimilation, and appropriation. Navas is intrigued by the connections between design, art, and other forms of craft, and uses them to explore the way art is perceived outside of the conventional art context, as well as the ideas of originality and duplication.

Navas received her education at the Karlsruhe Academy of Fine Arts, where she completed a postgraduate program under the guidance of Professor Franz Ackerman. She has also participated in residencies at various locations including Charco in León, Mexico, Flora Ars + Natura in Bogotá, and De Ateliers in Amsterdam. Her work has been showcased at both public and private institutions throughout Latin America and Europe.
