In 2012, Ricardo Gonzalez established Galería RGR in Venezuela. However, the gallery moved to its current location in Mexico City in 2018. Galería RGR is dedicated to showcasing both established and emerging contemporary artists.

Galería RGR: Using Abstract Art as a Guiding Thread

With abstract art as its guiding principle, the gallery brings together diverse artistic disciplines and streams of consciousness. Initially focused on showcasing influential Venezuelan artists of the modern-contemporary art juncture, like Carlos Cruz-Diez and Jesús Rafael Soto, the gallery has since evolved to explore ongoing connections between the present and recent past, expanding beyond geographical limits.

Through its exhibition program, Galería RGR fosters insightful conversations surrounding the global production of contemporary art, with a primary focus on delving into abstraction as the fundamental language. This exploration encompasses the origins found within mid-20th century modernist painters and sculptors, extending to the most groundbreaking and multidisciplinary concepts of our present era. The gallery's international program showcases artists from America, Europe, and Asia. Galería RGR proudly presents the inaugural Latin American solo exhibitions for esteemed artists such as Jeppe Hein in 2021 and Ding Yi in 2022.
