Shen Han

Shen Han is a contemporary artist who was born in Hangzhou, China in 1988 and currently resides in Berlin. He is known for exploring the relationship between instincts and body movements in the process of mark-making, and creating abstract images that provoke a sense of ambiguous tension. Shen's work typically does not have a preconceived subject matter but instead emerges from his fluid consciousness in action.

He uses basic painterly elements such as random shapes and broken lines to create a visual language that connects gestures to perceptions, and explores the human desire for visual ecstasy.

Shen's paintings challenge the viewer to interpret and comprehend the seemingly incomplete imagery, tapping into the brain's memory and connecting with the viewer on a deeper level. Shen Han's work has been exhibited internationally in both solo and group exhibitions, including shows in Berlin, London, and Shanghai.
