Liliane Tomasko's Art Style
Liliane Tomasko's paintings are characterized by a unique and daring lyrical quality, paired with an equally bold exploration of color. The artist frequently initiates her creative process by examining the personal belongings of everyday domestic life, such as bedding or clothing. This approach gives rise to artworks that offer a gateway into the realms of sleep and dreaming, delving into the gap between our understanding of the "conscious" and "subconscious."
Her recent paintings exhibit a growing vitality and confidence, expressing an abstraction that finds its roots in the tangible world while also attempting a departure from it. Vibrant colors, nuanced tones, shadows, and expressive brushwork intertwine in a manner that manipulates space, causing it to shift in and out of focus. This suspends one's perception and emulates the clarity or ambiguity inherent in dreams and memories.
