Lauren Coullard

Lauren Coullard is an American contemporary artist born in 1987 in Southern California. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the California College of the Arts in 2009 and her Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2015.

Coullard works primarily in painting and drawing, and her work often explores the intersection of popular culture and fine art. She incorporates elements from advertising, fashion, and graphic design into her brightly colored and layered compositions, which often feature abstracted forms and bold shapes.

Coullard has exhibited her work in solo and group shows in galleries and museums throughout the United States, including the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art in Kansas, and the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston. In 2017, she was the recipient of the Rema Hort Mann Foundation Emerging Artist Grant. Coullard is based in Los Angeles, California.
