Lajos Kassák
Lajos Kassák (1887-1967) was a Hungarian artist, writer, and editor who played a significant role in the development of avant-garde movements in Hungary and Europe during the early 20th century.
Kassák was born in the town of Érsekújvár (now Nové Zámky, Slovakia) and moved to Budapest at a young age. In the 1910s, he became involved in the Hungarian avant-garde scene and co-founded a number of influential magazines and artistic groups, including A Tett ("The Action"), MA ("Today"), and Activists of the New Art.
As an artist, Kassák was known for his innovative approach to painting and collage, which incorporated elements of Cubism, Futurism, and Dadaism. He was also a prolific writer and editor, publishing numerous articles, essays, and books on art, politics, and culture.
