Koak

Koak, a contemporary American artist born in 1981, creates portraits of women that explore different facets of femininity. Her portraits feature looping, thick lines and vibrant colors created using a range of materials, including acrylic, ink, chalk, graphite, and oil.

Koak earned an MFA in comics from the California College of the Arts, and her work still reflects her passion for the medium. In fact, she began working on a comic book called Sickbed Blues while in school, which ultimately grew to thousands of pages. Koak has exhibited her artwork extensively in California, as well as in cities such as New York and London.
