Johannes Wohnseifer is a multi-media artist whose work is recognized for its incorporation of fabricated logos and provocative messages that draw inspiration from corporate branding language, cultural symbols with weighty connotations, and political propaganda. Across his varied artistic practices, including collage, painting, and photography, Wohnseifer delves into weighty subjects like death, war, and time. In his piece "Stacked Studio Lights" (2010), Wohnseifer arranged a series of studio lights horizontally, with each fluorescent bulb programmed to adjust in brightness and intensity in accordance with the artist's personal sleep schedule, which took into account the time difference between his home country of Germany and New York.
