Jaume Plensa's Art Style
Over the past 35 years, Jaume Plensa has created sculptures and installations that unify individuals through connections to spirituality, the body, and collective memory. Throughout his career, literature, psychology, biology, language, and history have been key guiding elements.
Using a diverse range of materials—including steel, cast iron, resin, paraffin wax, glass, light, water, and sound—Plensa gives physical weight and volume to aspects of the human condition and the ephemeral.
At the core of Plensa’s practice is a continuous quest to evoke beauty in simplicity, fostering points of convergence for viewers. His works range from architectural landmarks that bridge local communities to intimate sculptures.
