Hong incorporates calligraphic passages seamlessly into numerous of his artworks. Frequently, he creatively manipulates the text's placement. His paintings radiate with the meticulously applied layers of pigments, each stroke carefully placed on paper, with the underlying hues gradually emerging through the blocks of colors.
