Feng Chen
Feng Chen produces videos, sculptures, and mesmerizing installations that explore the synchronization between visual and auditory elements, introducing a divide between various signals and prompting us to ponder which of our senses we should ultimately rely on.
Within his art, the interplay of perception and reality weaves intricate pathways, emphasizing that experience is the fundamental and genuine aspect of existence, shaping the very essence of reality.
Biography of Feng Chen
Feng Chen was born in Wuhan, China, in 1986. In 2009, he completed his studies in the Department of New Media Art at the China Academy of Art, and in 2014, he enrolled in a two-year program at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Chen was a finalist for The Fifth Huayu Youth Award from Huayu Art Center (2017).
His recent solo exhibitions include "Pretend It's a Game" at Capsule Shanghai in Shanghai (2023), "Moment by Moment" at Capsule Shanghai in Shanghai (2019), "The Darker Side of Light: Shadow" at Fosun Foundation ANNEX Space in Shanghai (2018), among others.
Feng Chen has also exhibited his art in numerous group shows worldwide, including "White Holes: The Mysteries and Modern Perceptions of Oracle Bone Script" at 798 CUBE in Beijing (2023), "Stairways" at Once Gallery in Shanghai (2023), "Lumen" at White Rabbit Gallery in Sydney (2021), "Shifting Boundaries" at WOOTON Gallery in Changsha (2018), and many more.
Feng Chen's artworks are in various institutional and private collections worldwide. Among them are the White Rabbit Gallery (Sydney, Australia), Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten (Amsterdam, Netherlands), China Art Museum (Shanghai, China), and Tünkers Group Private Collection (Taicang, China).
