Ernesto Schiess

Ernesto Schiess was a Swiss painter born in 1903 and passed away in 1984. He studied at the School of Arts and Crafts in Geneva and later at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Schiess was known for his landscapes, portraits, and still lifes, often featuring everyday scenes and objects. Schiess was an important figure in the Swiss art world and was a member of the Group of Eleven, a collective of artists that sought to promote modernism in Switzerland.

His works have been auctioned several times, with prices ranging from 325 USD to 8,849 USD, based on the size and medium of the artwork. The highest recorded price for his work at an auction was 8,849 USD for "Matterhorn im Nebel," sold at Germann Auctions in 2012. The artist passed away in 1919.
