Elza Sile
Elza Sile is an artist born in Latvia in 1989, currently living in Zurich. Her work combines mental imagery with analytic divisions to create a vocabulary of psycho-spatial typologies in flux. She graduated from ZHdK Zurich in 2019.
Sile has had solo exhibitions at KIM? Contemporary Art Center in Riga (2022), PHILIPPZOLLINGER in Zurich (2021), unanimous consent in Zurich (2020), and Kulturfolger Zurich (2020). She has also participated in numerous two-person and group shows at various galleries and art centers worldwide, including Embajada in Puerto Rico (2023), Diez in Amsterdam (2023), Centre d'art Pasquart in Biel (2022), Haus Konstruktiv in Zurich (2022), Misako & Rosen in Tokyo (2022), KIM? Contemporary Art Center in Riga (2020), Kunsthalle Zurich (2020), Hamlet in Zurich (2020), and Galerie Kirchgasse in Steckborn (2020).
In 2020, Sile was awarded the Werkschau Prize Zurich, and in 2021, she received the art stipend City of Zurich. She also completed a residency at ISCP New York in 2022.
