Ailbhe Ní Bhriain's Art Style

Ní Bhriain's creations delve into the exploration of an imperial legacy, human displacement, and the Anthropocene era. These interconnected themes are addressed using a narrative approach that relies on associations and a meticulously crafted visual language that borders on the surreal.

She avoids taking directive positions and familiar binaries, choosing instead to unveil the intricate layers of ambiguity and contradiction inherent in these complex matters. The outcome is a series of realms she crafts that are simultaneously unique, idiosyncratic, captivating, and deeply unsettling.

Her body of work has received widespread national and international recognition through exhibitions, often involving collaborative efforts with musicians and composers.
