Ida Tursic & Wilfried Mill

Ida Tursic and Wilfried Mille, both born in 1974, are an artist duo who met at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Dijon and began working together in 2000. Tursic, originally from Belgrade, Serbia, and Mille, from Boulogne-sur-mer, France, use painting to transmute images from magazines, art books, movies, and the internet. Their work reimagines the history and genre of painting in the 21st century, portraying scenes of glamor, pornography, luxury, landscapes, fashion, geometrical elements, and death on large canvases. These subjects are overwhelmed by the volume of image production in present media, and the paintings deal with the manipulation, re-utilization, and disappearance of images. The duo currently resides and works in Mazamet, France.
