SMITH's Art Style
SMITH's artistic journey is a continuous dialogue between theoretical inquiry and creative expression. This dialogue fuels his exploration of the fluid and multifaceted nature of human identity, encompassing its transformations, adaptations, and the permeable borders that define it. Unbound by traditional categories, SMITH creates installations that seamlessly integrate photography, sculptures, film, new technologies, dance, and performance.
SMITH's creative process includes polycephalous research and a vibrant collaboration with researchers, scientists, philosophers, and artists from diverse fields. Together, they imagine "world-works," installations that transcend time and boundaries.
His work disrupts genres and disciplines, driven by a deep curiosity (cura) about the world. This curiosity encompasses everything from the earthly to the celestial, the human to the non-human, the visible to the invisible. It's a blend of imagination and fiction brought to life.
He embraces a wide range of tools, from thermal cameras and drones to neon lights and metal prints. These technological elements become more than tools - they weave mystery and dreams into his ever-evolving artistic tapestry.
