Scott Lyall was born in 1964 in Toronto, Canada. He studied at Queens University and the University of Toronto. In 1993, he received his MFA from the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia.

His recent solo exhibitions include "Scales" at Green on Red Gallery in Dublin (2023), "Talents" at Miguel Abreu Gallery in New York (2023), "Superstar" at Miguel Abreu Gallery in New York (2019), "Cave Paintings Now" at Susan Hobbs Gallery in Toronto, and many more.
