Prae Pupityastaporn's Art Practice

Prae Pupityastaporn pursued her fine art education with a focus on painting at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, where she studied from 2012 to 2015 under the guidance of Professor Herbert Brandl.

In her artistic practice, she meticulously captures the overlooked minutiae of daily life, constructing an illusive catalogue of her material surroundings. Her works portray unnoticed domestic scenery and landscapes. Through layered brushwork and the incorporation of seemingly ordinary objects, she imbues her paintings with an elusive quality. In her artworks, a showerhead, a wall, or a rock takes on a mercurial nature, encapsulating emotional and environmental shifts.

"My desire is for my artwork to be as natural as possible, creating work that remains open to interpretation," Prae expressed.

Drawing inspiration from her experiences in both Germany and Thailand, Pupityastaporn skillfully intertwines the threads of her physical environments within her artworks. Influenced by the landscape genre in Germany's contemporary art scene, she forges her own pioneering visual language.

Pupityastaporn's paintings serve as a testament to her ability to rearrange ordinary objects and scenes, transforming them into something enigmatic and undefined. Utilizing thin layers of acrylic colors and solid elements, she is inspired by various sources, including photography, architecture, landscape, daily life situations, and literature, to create an imposing visual experience.
