Nick Mauss

Nick Mauss employs drawing as a tool to traverse between mediums and spaces, transcending conventional categorizations. His creative practice extends across various formats including reverse glass painting, ceramics, textiles, paper, sculpture, performance, and writing, where the boundaries blur and the line between them expands.

Biography of Nick Mauss

Nick Mauss was born in 1980 in New York, USA. In 2003, he obtained his BFA from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. 

In 2018, he crafted a permanent installation commissioned for Building 66 on the MIT campus in Cambridge, USA, which was unveiled in October 2018.

Mauss has exhibited his works worldwide. His recent solo exhibitions include "Nick Mauss" at Galerie Chantal Crousel in Paris (2024), "Likenesses" at Villa Atrata in La Roche-Posay (2022), "Project Room: End of Day" at 303 Gallery in New York (2022). Nick Mauss' artworks adorned the walls of various venues, including Gladstone Gallery, Campoli Presti, Whitney Museum of American Art, Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art, Eleni Koroneou Gallery, and others.

The artist has also participated in numerous group shows, including "Eccentrique Bébé" at Nouveau Musée National de Monaco in Monaco (2022), "Transcorporealities" at Museum Ludwig in Cologne (2019), "Question the Wall Itself" at Walker Art Center in Minneapolis (2016), among others.

Nick Mauss' creations grace numerous public collections, among them the Whitney Museum in New York, The Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, the Lenbachhaus in Munich, M+ in Hong Kong, the Long Museum in Shanghai, the Nouveau Musée national de Monaco,  FRAC Champagne-Ardenne in Reims, and The Hammer Museum in Los Angeles.
