Michel François

Born in Saint-Trond in 1956, Michel François is a Brussels-based artist with a prolific international career. His works have been exhibited in countless exhibitions around the world, including major art events such as the Havana Biennial in 2015, the Belgian Pavilion at the 48th Venice Biennale in 1999, the 22nd São Paulo Biennial in 1994, and documenta IX in Kassel in 1992.

François has also held solo exhibitions at renowned institutions such as the Ikon Gallery in Birmingham, the Dia Center for the Arts in New York, the S.M.A.K. in Ghent, the Fundació Joan Miró in Barcelona, the Kunsthalle Bern in Bern, and the Haus der Kunst in Munich. He has also been part of group exhibitions in prestigious venues such as the Museu de Arte Moderna in Rio de Janeiro, the Tapei Fine Art Museum in Taipei, the Centre Pompidou-Metz in Metz, the Jeu de Paume in Paris, the Haus der Kunst in Munich, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the Fondation Hermès in Brussels.
