Mia Middleton's Art Style
Middleton's paintings are typically small-scale and capture a delicate balance between the conscious and subconscious, desire and aversion, and reality and fantasy. Within these intimate snapshots, fleeting moments lose their context and linger in time, hinting at narratives without explicitly crafting them. This invites viewers into a psychological realm of ambiguity and exploration.
The artist explores the significance of narrative in our existence—the tales we construct, fabricate and narrate to ourselves. In her artistry, she doesn't aim to completely unveil the story or mental phenomenon that occupies her thoughts. Instead, she keeps an open mind, absorbing the impressions and emotions it evokes, collecting interpretations that may lead her in various directions—a realm of ambiguity and imaginative possibilities.
