Malcolm Morley
Malcolm Morley (1931-2018) was an English-born American painter and a pioneer of photorealism and neo-expressionism. He was born in London and later moved to New York City in the 1950s, where he began his career as an artist.
Morley's early work was characterized by a hyperrealistic style, in which he painted everyday objects, landscapes, and scenes with meticulous attention to detail. Later in his career, he became associated with the neo-expressionist movement, creating works that were more gestural and emotional.
Throughout his career, Morley continued to experiment with different techniques and styles, often challenging traditional notions of painting and representation. He was known for his use of collage and mixed media, incorporating found objects and images into his work.
