Garry Winogrand

Garry Winogrand was an American photographer known for his candid street photography. He was born in the Bronx, New York in 1928 and studied painting at City College of New York. He later switched to photography and worked as a freelance photographer for various publications.

Winogrand's focus in art was on capturing the everyday moments of American life through his photographs. He often used a wide-angle lens and got very close to his subjects, capturing them in motion and creating a sense of dynamism and energy in his images.

Throughout his career, Winogrand produced a vast amount of work, often taking thousands of photographs a day. He is considered one of the most influential photographers of the 20th century and his work has been exhibited in numerous galleries and museums around the world.

Unfortunately, Winogrand passed away at the young age of 56 in 1984, leaving behind an incredible legacy of photographs that continue to inspire and influence photographers today.
