Baptiste Caccia

Baptiste Caccia is a French painter born in 1988, currently based in Paris. He completed his studies at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts de Paris. Caccia's work focuses on exploring the relationship between the substance of an image and painting.

He is interested in the stakes of the image in painting and mental projections as a starting point for the pictorial act. Caccia's process involves combining painting with techniques of reproduction such as silk-screen printing, but the work is built by erasure. Painting is both a process of subtraction and addition. The image lays down the law of the painting diagram, and he is constantly decoding the essence of their relationship.

Caccia's work has been exhibited in numerous cities including Paris, New York, London, Brussels, Rotterdam, Roma, and Aarhus.
