Abushariaa Ahmed, born in 1966 in Omdurman, Sudan, graduated from Sudan University’s College of Fine & Applied Arts in 1990. Departing Sudan in the mid-90s, he served as an artist in residence at the Paa ya Paa Arts Centre in Nairobi, Kenya.

Following a brief period in Cologne, Germany, he established roots in Kampala, Uganda, in 2000, working as a freelance artist. After an extended period in the diaspora, Abushariaa recently returned to Khartoum.

Abushariaa Ahmed's works have been showcased extensively in East Africa, as well as in international exhibitions in Canada, the United States, Germany, Denmark, Monaco, and the United Kingdom. His creations grace numerous private and public collections worldwide, including prominent institutions such as the African Museum of Art in Seoul and the collection of the World Bank in Washington, among others.
